Job Title: K-12 Art Teacher
Position Type: Full-Time, School Year (10-month)
Overview:
Maynard Public Schools is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and creative K-12 Art Education Teacher to serve students across all grade levels, Kindergarten through Grade 12. This is a full-time position with a unique schedule: half of the school day will be dedicated to instruction at Maynard High School, while the other half will be shared with Maynard Elementary School.
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, standards-based art instruction to students in grades K–12.
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate art lessons that foster creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking.
Collaborate with fellow educators and building administrators to align curriculum vertically across grade levels.
Maintain and manage art materials and classroom spaces in both the elementary and high school buildings.
Evaluate and assess student progress, providing meaningful feedback and support.
Participate in school events, art shows, and other extracurricular arts-related opportunities.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
Uphold and promote the values of equity, inclusion, and respect for diverse learners and artistic perspectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education (Master’s Degree preferred)
Arkansas DESE licensure in Art, grades K–12
Prior experience teaching multiple grade levels is preferred
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit
Ability to travel between school buildings during the day
